A couple additions to the “announcements” page – Christmas Caroling tonight starting at 6 pm at River Inn; Bistro opens to locals; Cal-Trans announcement about Holiday schedules.
7:00 pm – current whether discussion:
DISCUSSION...AS OF 5:50 PM PST TUESDAY...RECENTLY ISSUED A WIND ADVISORY FOR MUCH OF THE BAY AREA AND CENTRAL COAST WHICH BEGINS 4 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING AND EXPIRES WEDNESDAY AT NOON
1:00 pm -current weather discussion follows:
NEEDLESS TO SAY RAIN WILL FALL ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY WITH WINDS IN 15 TO 30 MPH RANGE OVER HIGHER TERRAIN AND ALONG THE COAST. . . . THE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL DROP SOUTH AND EAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MAINTAINING SHOWERS ACROSS THE REGION. AS THE TROUGH MOVES SOUTH COLD AIR ACCOMPANYING THIS TROUGH WILL SETTLE INTO THE AREA BRING SNOW LEVELS DOWN TO AROUND 3000 FEET. SHOW SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER HIGHER TERRAIN.
9:30 am – not much rain, less than 1/4 inch. Catching up on some reports, but road seems to be clear. Hoping it clears up so a couple friends can come up for a visit today. Otherwise, I bought WAY too much food and booze (well, is there really such a thing as too much booze on hand during the holiday season?)
6:30 am – definitely not clear. It is raining. I forgot to empty the rain gauge, too, darn. Oh well, I’ll just subtract the 2.25 we just got.
Also, updated forecast has snow on Christmas Day down to 3000. That’s me! Maybe I WILL have a white Christmas, after all.
