I should start a contest of random photographs taken in Big Sur and see who can be the first to identify it. I think only public places would be fair. This is a public place. Anyone recognize it?

Merrie Potter did, in just over an hour. I’m impressed – and we got a mini-history lesson, too. I’ll have to make the next one harder!!

This is the fence outside the log cabin at Nepenthe. Erin's house. Our daughters helped paint it when they were small.
