CALTRANS HIGHWAY 1 BIG SUR HOTLINE TO PROVIDE CURRENT TRAFFIC INFORMATION

MONTEREY/SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTIES – Caltrans District 5 has created a toll-free hotline that will provide information about traffic on Highway 1. The hotline will cover an area of the Big Sur coast highway from Cambria to Carmel.

Motorists are advised to consult the hotline before driving on Highway 1 in the Big Sur area. The toll-free phone number is (888) 836-0866.

The hotline will be updated as needed with information about construction, traffic delays, and or road closures. “With the rainy season approaching, we are pleased to be able to provide this service to the traveling public,” said District Director Rich Krumholz.

Caltrans reminds motorists that “we’re here to get you there.”

For traffic updates on Highway 1 projects between Cambria and Carmel residents can visit http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist05/road_information.htm or call the District 5 toll-free number at 888-836-0866.
