I saw several Cal Fire vehicles leaving the north end of the OCR this AM (btw still in dense fog at 0930) and they confirmed not only that things seem to be under control but also the earlier report I'd heard thru the neighbors' list. It seems that the best guess for the cause of the fire was one of the El Sur Ranch bulls rubbing his back on one of the power poles along the Serra Grade and knocking it down. I responded that even if it isn't true, it is an excellent story - almost as good as Mrs. O'Leary's cow starting the great Chicago Fire, but with a much better outcome..... They said almost everything that burned was grass, too.
