It started snowing about 2 pm – just a little, small flakes, and within a half hour, it has really picked up and is fast increasing and accumulating. Will go get some shots and upload for you! Just beautiful!! Just got a photo from Debbie, showing it is lightly snowing in Big Sur Valley, too. Woohoo!

This is at 2:23 pm –

and this is 15 mins later. (Internet slow, so please be patient. I will get all the good ones up eventually.)

I have more from that time frame, and some I just took an hour after the snow started. It continues, although the sun peeks out, and then goes away. I can see it snowing out over the Pacific! It is amazing. More photos as the internet goddess allows.

More from about 2:40-3:00 pm –

That’s my side deck – yes, its got a couple three inches on it, now.

At 3:40 pm, it continues to snow, so about an hour and 1/2 now. I will continue to photograph and upload.

And there you have it. Stopped snowing a bit after 4, but it remains on the ground. There is a combination of blue skies and clouds. Okay, may just have to add a few more, as the clouds cleared long enough to get some shots of Cone Peak. What can I say? It is beautiful.

  • It is snowing at my place on Alms Ridge, started around 2:15. I have lived here for 35 years and this is the first time I have seen it snow for more than 5 minutes at my house.

  • So much fun! Great pictures, Kate. The storm has reached Northern Arizona where it is starting to snow pretty hard. Expect as much as a foot overnight.

  • Such beautiful timed shots of your snow day, Kate. That next to last photo of the sky looks like God is watercoloring. I rather like that. :)
