Rain

Well, this caught me by surprise Friday afternoon, even though the AT&T Pro Am was in town. I, too, was in town Friday. I was surprised by the glorious lack of expected traffic when the golf pros and celebrities are in town, but around two o’clock, as I am getting ready to head south, the drizzle started, and it never let up! Saturday is when I was expecting it, not Friday.

There is another, similar one coming. Not a lot of rain, but a couple of tenths, at most, is expected. This is what NOAA has to say about it:

“THE NEXT POTENTIAL RAIN/DRIZZLE EVENT IS SLATED FOR SUNDAY NIGHT
INTO MONDAY AS ANOTHER UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVES SOUTHWARD
ALONG THE CALIFORNIA COAST. RIGHT NOW SIMILAR QPF NUMBERS TO THE
LAST SYSTEM ARE EXPECTED WITH THIS NEXT EVENT.”

  1. Last night, on the way home from a town run to get a brake job done on my truck, I ran into heavy rain over Hurricane Point. In Carmel, it was a misery wet cold scene, but the sidewalks were packed solid with shoppers and tourists anyway. Today was a warmer and sunnier day, but the surf was too big, gnarly, and dangerous to do my commercial fishing. So, I got creative and constructed a 7′ tall saguaro cactus of papier mache over a sculpted chicken wire frame. The cactus will be a prop in the upcoming Big Sur Little Theater production “The Life and Death of Sneaky Fitch”. Paul, Lisa, and JohnCruz Eskridge dropped by and helped me paint it, We had a lot of fun…thanks y’all! Later on, I found some nice pieces of jade, which I shaped into miniature surfboards. So the day ended up to be a good one.

  2. David- is that show at treebones? I saw a flyer… “sponsored by treebones…” but no location listed. Sounds fun- I’d like to come!
