  • It's very moving to see and read things like this. I get a kind of ping in my heart reminded where I live and the precious regard in which this land is held. Bless us one and all, the woods and creatures, all life and deadwood, every branch, burrow and stream, that we may have peace on earth and a fireless fire season.

  • Thanks Kate. It would be nice if the USFS would update current fire restrictions on their website in a timely fashion. Here is the latest post under "Current FIre Restrictions" on the Los PAdres site:

    "Fire Restrictions lifted 12-5-12
Fire Restrictions Lowered on Los Padres National Forest..."

    • LOL. Yup, but they are busy fighting a wildfire down on the LPNF near Frazier Park, it grew to 3000 acres and 0 containment in a few hours this afternoon! The signs are up, though, as they go up forest-wide at the same time.
