Highway One closed at Coast Gallery

A rock slide south of Big Sur at Post Mile 42 near the Coast Gallery has closed Highway 1 overnight. Our crews will assess the damage and begin cleanup at daybreak so we’ll update everyone after that, thx

What is the status of the Coast Gallery? I have called and there is no answer on their phone & then the line buzzes. Thank you

  Dale, most places between Paul's Slide, south of Lucia, and the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge just north of the post office are closed, as no one can get to them, right now. Also, utilities and phone companies can't get to them, either, although I think Esalen's phones were on and off.
