Foto Friday and Photo Contest

I had planned on uploading the finalists tonight, for tomorrow’s post. I’m not sure I can. Some of you already know I lost a close friend today. It was sudden. She went to Stanford a week ago. They told her on Sunday the Cancer had rapidly spread beyond their ability to control it. They gave her 1 and 1/2 to two months. They released her Tuesday to her sister and set up Hospice care. She lasted two DAYS. Rose and I were going to see her Sunday.

LISA Sorenson was beloved by our community. We are all in shock and doing what we can to come to deal with this awful news. She was surrounded by family today and passed over just before 2 this afternoon. Her family will have a memorial BBQ for her in Cambria, where she and her sister owned a home, this summer.

Give me a week, and I should be able to get the finalists chosen and up. Thank you for your understanding.

Lisa, we love you and will see you on the other side.

  1. OMG, I’m so sorry to hear the news. Condolences to her family and friends, of which I’m sure there were many.

  2. What can anyone say? “Condolences” — inadequate, albeit sincere. These past couple of unseasonably balmy days, with sunshine glinting off rained-upon surfaces (both rare, this year), have been a time to be remembered. Rain, tears, light…perhaps a fitting memorial. Peace to all.

  3. Oh Kate, so, so, sorry…there are no words just hoping you can at some point find peace in your memories…..

  4. We all get our turn to leave this life.
At least with cancer, you usually have your wits about you, not like a stroke which is so frustrating and debilitating.
It is sad when a life is cut short. Her suffering is now over, she is free.

  5. WTH??? Wow! I am so saddened by this. Lisa is an amazing woman. Gone way too soon. My heart and love to all of you ladies of the Sur! xoxo

  6. Oh Kate-I am sad to hear this for you, your buddies and her family. I would guess you were a great friend to her. One more angel on your side but that is different than Lisa being here in her body still. Hugs!
