UPDATE 1/24/16 1:40p.m: The Monterey County Sheriff’s office said the three Stockton hikers who were reported missing in Big Sur, have walked out and are ok.
No further details.
Two separate incidents: Three missing hikers:
BIG SUR, Calif. – Three hikers from Stockton have been reported missing in Big Sur, according to the Stockton Police Department.
Police said Tyler Betteridge,20, David Betterridge, 23, and Robert Garcia, 22, were supposed to return home Saturday night after a hiking trip in Big Sur. Investigators said the men’s car was later found unoccupied in the Big Sur area.
Monterey County deputies said they are monitoring the situation.
If you come across these hikers, police ask you contact them immediately.
Neither MCSO or Stockton say which part of Big Sur their car was found. No indication the two incidents are related.
MONTEREY, Calif. – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed two people, who were Base-jumping off Bixby Bridge, have been missing since Saturday morning.
The Sheriff’s Dive Team responded to the search Sunday morning, but deputies said it has been temporarily called off due to high surf conditions
This is sad. Is there a suggestion they base jumped off the bridge and disappeared?
I’m guessing the tides, Mike, but unclear, just like the hikers story.
