Memorial Day

People often confuse Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. On Memorial Day we honor those who gave their lives in the fight for our country. We honor our dead. Veteran’s Day, we honor the living.

Listening to NPR tributes this morning, veterans talk about the screams of dying soldiers, the blood & gore, and stench of death, and bodies laying like railroad ties all along the earth.

Nothing mentioned about hot dogs & hamburgers & chips.
