  • Dear Firefighters,

I am so grateful to see that Santa Lucia Preserve has been lifted off the evacuation list!!! Praise God and all your hard work!!!

This has been a heartbreaking fire for everyone, for some much more than others even know, but I don't want to miss the chance to celebrate the huge achievements you all have made as you are doing everything you can to keep us safe. Thank you, firefighters - THANK YOU, thank you, thank you!!!!

It's just seven little words, "Evacuation Orders lifted for Santa Lucia Preserve" - but what those seven little words actually mean is SO huge - and so appreciated by so many....

......thousands of hours of grueling, difficult "think on your feet" physical tasks
......sheer courage under often terrifying conditions
......scaling super stiff, rocky hillsides in heavy gear carrying tons of tools and machines
......risking life and limb (God Bless you Robert Reagan and family) to save people and their homes
    ......breathing unbelievable amounts of smoke
......working super hard together to try to out-think and outflank this out of control beast that's coming at us
.....bringing in huge amounts of machinery and air power and coordinating all the personnel, air craft, land craft, engines, accommodations for 5500+ fighters
.....incredible patience with the task and all the citizens constantly asking lots of questions, focus and fortitude and answering the same questions over and over again and never seeming annoyed
.....keeping a positive attitude and being friendly and pleasant to all
.... just plain super hard grueling work (digging, chopping, sawing, blasting, dozing, flying... )....

the two little words, "Thank you" are also small, but mean so much. wish we could all find a way to adequately express our gratitude. It's deep.
