8:30 pm – the highway closed at 8pm, there was a car on its roof at the Big Sur Station, and now we are under a flood warning:

Roads: As far as the roads, no big problems being reported, but there are bound to be rocks out on Highway One, so pay attention as you travel, and report what needs reporting.
It is pouring buckets in SF with high winds. It’s been raining all day, but just started hitting hard since 1:30 PM. Get ready.
Hi Kate,
7:30pm and I,ve had 2.6″ since 8am, nothing real hard or fast but it’s been picking up steadily. Just came up from taking a look at the BS river, it is up but no where near being bank full.

UPS Kim made a delivery here at PV School about 6pm. He said that Paul’s slide (south of Hermitage, between Lucia and Limekiln) was falling faster than the CalTrans truck on scene could keep up with. We told him to turn around and come back to the school to spend the night with Lisa and I at GC’s house if he couldn’t get through on his way back to Monterey. Kim also said that he saw almost a dozen cars with flat tires. A van had 2 flat tires! No one should be on the road in this weather….
