Appointed appellate counsel for indigent defendants (retired.) I have lived in Big Sur since 1984, first on the north coast, and on the South Coast since 1989.

  • This never makes sense to me year after year. Land owners, who are responsible with their burn and near a water line, can no longer have a burn beginning in May, but tourists can still go into the backcountry and have a fire with no water source (and how many of them bring ample water, bucket and shovel!) into June. Just another way Monterey Co. puts the all mighty tourism dollar above and beyond the good of Big Sur and those of us who live here.
