· Mud Creek (PM 8.9) –NO ACCESS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. No ETO for Mud Creek at this time.

· Mud Creek has three major issues: 1) a partial lane missing; 2) the slope/roadway is at an angle and 3) significant slide material is still coming down. There is the possibility of retaining walls or a side hill viaduct as a viable solution for Mud Creek, but first we need to drill, and to do so, we need the slide to cease movement and the water to stop flowing. Vehicles and local residents will need to use Nacimiento-Fergusson to exit south or clear the access times at Paul’s Slide.

Paul’s Slide (PM 21.6)—ACCESS FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND DELIVERY VEHICLES
ONLY.
No Change. Work on the slope continues. The targeted “public access” date of mid-June
shows medium probability with recent activity, public opening date could be pushed further
out.
· 12:00PM Monday / Wednesday / Friday– A single caravan south and a single caravan
north, you must be in line by noon! There may be up to 45 minute delay to clear the road
before the opening.
· Delivery vehicles (Restriction is 30 feet maximum length and 50,000 lbs. maximum weight) can now use all access windows 7 days a week.
· Access times for the morning and evening are still the same except for Friday:
5:30AM to 6:00AM and 7:00PM to 7:30PM – Sat.-Thurs.
· Friday’s hours will be shortened to:
5:30AM – 8:00AM and 6:00PM to 7:30PM
· The noon opening will be for PAUL’S SLIDE ONLY, (NOT MUD CREEK); you will need to use Nacimiento-Fergusson Road to exit the coast.
Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge [PCB] (PM 45.52)
The foundation pile for the abutment and wing walls was completed last week (north end) and the drilling contractor is currently mobilizing the south end to begin the foundation work there. The contractor has begun demolition of the original abutment on the north side and will be focusing on excavation, forming, placing rebar and pouring the new abutment #2 on the north side over the next few weeks.
Progress continues to take place but being that Mud Creek is closed until further notice, we
need to bring 10 loads of material: gravel, sand, equipment and other items via convoys
through Nacimiento—Fergusson with CHP escorts—thus far scheduled for today and
Thursday of this week. Current public access date remains: Mid-to-late September.
Slide Removal within PCB Closure (PM 45.84)
Slide removal operations just north of the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge project, which we are calling the “trailer
slide” will began yesterday, Monday, May 15. Temporary guardrail (K-rail) was placed yesterday and there
will be STOP sign controls in place 24/7 at PM 45.84 just north of Sycamore Canyon Road. This is within
the closure for the bridge project and will only affect residents of Pfeiffer Ridge Road and Sycamore Canyon
Road. Flaggers will control traffic during work hours. There may be some delay as trucks are loaded out.
Another update will be provided by mid-day Friday, May 19.
