  1. We got caught driving down hwy 2 from Monterey last week and had to drive back to Monterey and across to the 101 then over to the 1 to get to our destination in San Simeon.
It would have been really nice if we knew about the closure by Caltrans putting a sign for travellers to see instead of us having to travel south thinking we would be in San Simeon in a few hours. CALTRANS NEEDS TO THINK MORE OF US CITIZENS. PLEASE CALTRANS TAKE NOTE!!!!!!!!!

  2. You are a special kind of tourist. There *ARE* signs – many signs. The entire world knows about the closures by the bridge which was destroyed in February – by the slide which is the biggest in California history which happened earlier this month. It has been on local, national, and international news stations. You found my blog, right? I’ve been covering this since February with eyewitness reports, updates by Cal Trans and remarkable photos. I have no sympathy for you, sir.

BTW, it is Highway 1, not 2.
