Fall is officially here…
Last night I dragged my down comforter out of storage and put on the duvet cover. I brought in firewood to the house to be ready for my first fire, once the rains start. I have filled up my outside bin, I am moving some of my firewood stash closer to the house, and am beginning to work on obtaining more.
Fall is definitely here.

Sounds like a good plan. I am still cutting wood from fallen trees from that Feb. wind storm. Next I'll have to start stacking it all up.
How funny. Yesterday I cleaned the wood burning stove, found a new home for the plant that was on it and considered loading it up... didn't I just take the firewood out??
Feels like fall here, too!
fwiw I just heard a Thrasher ( local bird, look it up ) sing a long melodious song and I have noted for many years that they often - not always, but often - predict the coming of rain. seems they only sing like that when there's moisture in the world or soon to be. say 10 -14 days? let's hope so!
and what does that shockingly accurate weather forecast fellow say? would be funny if linear science and non-linear Nature said the same thing....
and cleaning out the rain gutters. yuk. but will be very happy for it.
Ahh yes. Cleaning out the rain gutters. Good times. :-)
