Bridge Work, 10/25/17

My internet was off line this am, so just catching up. I did see the info about the fire at Rocky Point at about 1 am. The person who called 911 sent me a couple of short videos, which I haven’t seen yet, due to connectivity problems. Sounds like a close call.

STATE ROUTE 1 OVERNIGHT WORK FOR BRIDGE PRESERVATION IN BIG SUR CONTINUES

MONTEREY COUNTY –Overnight closures consisting of one-way reversing traffic control on State Route 1 at Hot Springs Bridge (PM 32.81) and Lime Creek Bridge (PM 32.25) will take place over the next few nights with closure hours being from 9 pm to 6 am each night, with the exception of one day of daytime work only; locations and details are as follows:

Hot Springs Bridge (PM 32.81)
· Monday, Oct. 30 from 8 am to 4 pm
· Tuesday night, Oct. 31

Lime Creek Bridge (PM 32.25)
· Sunday night, Oct. 29 through Thursday, Nov. 2 (Friday morning, Nov. 3 at 6 am)

This one-way traffic control closure is necessary so that Caltrans can perform bridge preservation/deck sealing on the State Route 1 Hot Springs and Lime Creek bridges. This project also included bridge work in various locations in San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties.

  1. rocky point – 1 am- tall flames 30-40 feet high shinning behind the garage. Phone calls from the nieghbors and mid-coast fire. Time to go now, rally and catch 5 cats 2 dogs 2 children 2 adults and my 88 years mom. Got to town found a room,pet friendly, wow. Mid -Coast fire brigade was on IT !!!!! They got it Out,thankyou,thankyou,thankyou. Afire started under some cypress trees a small amount north of rocky point restarant probly the edge of their land.It got up in the trees and across the brush close to the first house on the ajoining street.4-8 acers? thank goodness there was no wind! Someone camping there? arson? hum. Mid-Coast Volunteer Fire Brigade you rock.infinate gratitude. How can we get those no fires 5000 dollar fine signs on hwy one? in english spainish and japanesse? This is a year round problem.
