I would like to know what the tangible monetary benefit is to Big Sur and its residents from these types of events.

so will this be another task for the fine CHP personnel to manage that are however in such short supply they can't be tasked to cover the cluster-clunk of the Rio Road debacle? ahem.... hard to not be cynical. and fwiw, how about a subcontractor hired to manage the traffic there? somebody, anybody? sigh, somehow the logic of this eludes me.
