Total Rainfall

I received a total of .47” by 10 pm last night. It is still drizzling up here this am, and I may have gotten another few hundredths by now. Love the smell and the feel and the freshness. Son reports that Plaskett is quite slippery. All that dust is now a slippery clay mud.

Got my second wood stove in and completely finished the chimney installation last night. This one is close to my bedroom, near my “command post” so will really help this winter. Solid as a rock. My first stove pipe is a piece of crap. Now that we know how to do it, will redo like the second one. The outside chimney installation is still good, but the inside needs redoing.

Now, I need to work on my wood pile. Hate to keep too much around during fire season.

  • 1" @ 8 pm last night and it rained until midnight, at least. Forgot to check this a.m....Willow Crk

  • Kate, did your place have its own set of matching skylights? Comfort is essential- happy your workplace "command post" will stay temperate & efficient all year. Now Mother Nature needs to fill up those groundwater wells and then you're set.

    • My Spring is old and constant. Never a worry. I am surrounded by windows, so no need for skylights.

  • Kate, did Mud Creek remain in tact from any new flow activity from the images you have seen or folks you have been in contact with?

  • Mud Creek looked fine when I drove through there today. All I noticed were 2 long skinny ditches on the east side of the pavement that were holding water. We got .25 at my house at top of Happy Hill yesterday. I got hit with a heavy downpour heading north on 1 yesterday afternoon. It lasted at least 15 or 20 minutes. Some cars pulled over. Those that continued, drove at 40 to 45 mph, with fastest wiper speed, which still didn't help much with visibility.
