So it took 75 years to figure out that suppressing all fires wasn't such a great idea after all. We should have learned from the Native Americans to work with the natural cycles of some fires. Seems Smokey might have done better discouraging the all-American right to build campfires - the prime starter of wildfires.
As we learned better, we did better. At least fire is being reintroduced to the habitats that always needed it. The question is, is it too late? Indigenous peoples are so much smarter than the rest of us.
