• I stayed with my aunt Luneta for seven months in 1953 in Big Sur. I was 3 years old. I spent plenty of time at Deetjen's and Nepenthe during that era. We quite frequently spent time with Henry Miller and Emil White. in 1955 my family and I moved to Big Sur, and Deetjen's was the first place I remembered on the drive south from Carmel. An AWESOME place for sure!! We lived at Lucia until 1970. My heart and soul belongs in Big Sur... Paradise at its best!!

• Kate, this is great news- hope all are living long & prospering among all all the pitfalls & sinkholes Mother Nature remains in charge of setting up! Go Caltrans, Kate, and other unsung heroes, firefighters w/ community organizers, etc Kate, how are all the bridge projects going as of this moment? Enjoy your week preppers & survivalists.

• Great news. Deetjens is one of my most favorite places in the world. I still remember vividly time spent in the hot tub at Top House in the late 70's especially. Has it really been that long?
