for the Big Sur Coast including the Colorado and Dolan Fire Burn Scars.

More information: https://inws.ncep.noaa.gov/a/a.php?i=78320965

WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

WHERE: Some locations that will experience flooding include Salinas, Seaside, Monterey, Marina, Jamesburg, Tassajara Hot Springs, Arroyo Seco, Big Sur Village, Lucia, Gorda, Soledad, Greenfield, Pacific Grove, Gonzales, Carmel-By-The-Sea, Carmel Valley Village, Sycamore Flat, Cachagua Near The Los Padres Dam, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park and San Clemente Dam.
WHEN: Until 1145 PM PST Wednesday.

IMPACTS: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

PREPAREDNESS: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

  • Stay safe down there everyone. We’ve been going through hell up here on the Mendocino Coast with no end in sight.

  • Barbara, I assume you are talking about my balinese frog princess mask I use as my “avatar.” And the answer is no, I am not going to “retire” it. It has been part of the bigsurkate “brand” so-to-speak for 15 years, and will continue for the next 15, if I am around that long. Ugly to you, but she welcomed customers to my friends shop, Exotica, in the Carmel Crossroads for an equally long time, before Cheryl sold the shop. If that is not what you are talking about, then enlighten us.
