Caltrans update for Central Coast California, 1/10/23

CALTRANS CENTRAL COAST HIGHWAY CLOSURES DUE TO WINTER STORMS

SAN LUIS OBISPO – The latest winter storm system to move through the Central Coast has resulted in various highway closures in the following locations due to flooding and debris on the roadway.

  • Northbound US 101 is closed at State Route 150 near Carpinteria, near Sheffield Drive near Summerland and from Winchester Canyon Road near Goleta to Highway 1 north of Gaviota.
  • Southbound US 101 is closed at Milpas Street in Santa Barbara.
  • Highway 154 is closed from State Route 192 to the Junction with State Route 246 near Santa Ynez.
  • Highway 246 is closed from Alamo Pintado Road in Solvang.
  • Highway 1 is closed from State Route 166 West to Brown Road in Santa Barbara County.
  • Highway 41 West is closed from Ironwood Drive to San Gabriel Road near Morro Bay.
  • Northbound US 101 is closed northbound at 13th Street and southbound at 18th Street in Paso Robles.
  • State Route 198 is closed from Peach Tree Valley Road to the Fresno County line.
  • State Route 9 is closed from Big Basin Way to Monaco Lane and from Glen Arbor Road (lower) to Glen Arbor Road (Upper) in Santa Cruz County.
  • State Route 236 is closed from Little Basin Road to Big Basin State Park in Santa Cruz County.
  • Highway 1 remains closed in Monterey County from the Elephant Seal Vista Point to Palo Colorado.
  • Highway 1 has re-opened in both directions in Morro Bay.
