Per the CHP. I have heard of issues at Pt Lobos, Yankee Point, and the Highlands. Stay off the roads if at all possible.
“The roadway is closed at this time along Highway 1 at Carmel River Bridge for travel southbound. Due to several active incidents regarding trees down and wires across the roadway. Drive carefully!”

Wow! Deja vu all over again--I will remember Elliot Roberts knocking on my (Highlands) door (at 4:00 a.m.?) to tell me to fill my bathtub with water because The Bridge (& the attached water system) was gone. I protested that it would be reopened within days and Elliott exclaimed "no! it's gone! It's in the Pacific Ocean." And so began isolation in the Highlands for several days. It was a (delightful) adventure until Sam Karas brought us a Bailey Bridge.
So sorry that current circumstances aren't as tolerable and my thoughts are with all of you.
