  • I'm out in the little sur and the snow is down to like 2300ft. I'm on launtz ridge and can see snow on post summit and pico blanco. What a spring.!

  • Oh, yeah! One of my peak experiences was when I was out in the Plumas National Forest surveying trees during a dead-calm snowfall, with lots of big flakes slowly sashaying down . . .

    I stopped and tried to stay completely still, experiencing absolute silence for the first time--except for my breathing, which I held . . . and my beating heart . . .
