  • So only the Naci/Ferg Rd. will be open to the public and all other South Coast roads will remain closed ... if this is true why are some of the property owners short-term renting out their private homes to the visiting public, this does not make sense!!

  • Oops my bad!! Seems the STRs I mentioned are on the County portion of the road below the USFS portion, so it's business as usual :-)

  • To all those that will now have access to Nacimiento Road..... Please show respect to the land. Also, please drive slowly and carefully and enjoy the privilege....
    Thank You!!!

  • Dear Kate. I'm an almost 50 year resident of SLO and would like to bird along Nac-Ferg on Thursday this week 11/19 before rain. Think it's feasible? I have a 4WD runner and used to drive it all the time when I led biology field trips from local community college but of course have no idea what the conditions are. My friend and I would just like to drive it one more time before the coming "hordes." Any advice from anyone is appreciated especially if it's possible to turn around and retreat if we start from Hwy 1. Thanks. Nancy SLO

    • Not directly. You should drive north on 101 to Salinas, then cut over on 68 to 1 and go down the coast from Carmel.
