I took this off my back deck during the Basin Fire (2008). Barbara Woyt and I had a front row seat to this sight. One rarely gets to see this point of view outside of from another flying machine.

Kate,
What a great picture. Although too bad about the circumstances.
On another note, on my down to the lighthouse to give a tour yesterday, the crazies and their cars were all over the place. Coming up the south side of little Sur Bridge, cars and people were all parked and walking around the highway. I can't believe that no one was hit. On my way noticed large CHP presence, especially motorcycles. I think that car week is just getting a bit out of hand.
Just my 2 cents!!!
Richard
They’re growing stupider and stupider people these days …
Extraordinary photo, Kate!
No feeling quite like being on the inside of a fire line is there? I used to fly in Navy P-3s before they were converted to a more useful purpose.
