My first thought is whether it is sanctioned by the California Nurses Association. If not it’s not possible to do at a CNA contracted facility-which is most of the larger California facilities. In other states it might be ok.
So much here! Agree, if a contract hospital there is no ‘strike’. There can be a day of action like informational pickets. ‘Strike’ connotes no one at the bedside which I am sure is not what they want to display. 100% on an action but this poster is worrisome.
Good news! Standing up for what's right.
To bei clear, I am not advocating for this, and aslo agree it is worrisome as nurses are indispensable to patient care.
I don't get the feeling there is any established nurses' organization backing this call to strike. The announcement could have been made by anyone. What entity is responsible for arrangements for basic, essential patient care during the strike? What entity will have the nurses' backs if they face consequences for not showing up for their shifts?
