Photos of the top of Torre Canyon taken by Josh Bleibtreu on 8/11/26

These are the same columns I was shooting from my place at 6:30 or so. Josh was shooting from the top of Partington just past Heidi’s.. At 4:30 am I sat in the dark and watched the flames from my place.

  • Wow, great pictures, reallly taking off there. Hoping for that cooler weather, no lightning and a possible rain shower.

  • Thank you dear Kate … and all the fire fighters, volunteers and others who fight this fire for the precious friends, homes, animals, businesses and the heritage lands of Big Sur 💖💕💖

  • Agreed re: Monterey's gusts. Fortunately, I'm tracking a weather station on Partington that says single digits (with the gusts). Finger's crossed for precipitation, marine layer, low wind, no lightning. Huge Thank You's for everyone building the containment and protecting those structures.
