• Andrew is the best! I picked up my letters and packages in the Monterey post office dungeon this morning and it was amazing how he'd organized that temporary office. He is the unsung hero of every Big Sur disaster, always dedicated to making sure the mail is delivered. Thanks so very much Andrew!!! 🙏

• I don’t live in the area, but I am so touched by Andrew’s commitment and communication during this very difficult time for the Big Sur and Pacific Valley communities.

  Kate, once again you have gone above and beyond to report the situation multiple times a day even while you had to evacuate yourself. You are a true blessing. Thank you for your care and all that you do. ❤️

  Andrew, Andy, look and see,
  Is there three weeks’ of mail for me?
  We’ve been waiting a long, long time,
  While the Timber Fire shut down Highway One.

  Now there must be some mail today,
  The road is opening — hip hip hooray!
  But first to Monterey you go,
  Trip after trip, with a mighty postal load.

  Then back to Big Sur, sort and stack,
  Three weeks of mail all coming back.
  You’ll deliver everything you can,
  Andrew and Andy — our two-mailman band!

  Oh, Mister Postmen, look and see,
  Is there a letter in your bags for me?
  We’ve been waiting a long, long time,
  For bills and postcards and Amazon Prime!

  Tomorrow won’t be quite routine,
  There’s three weeks’ chaos to be seen.
  No normal counter, no normal day,
  Till Friday gets us underway.

  And “full delivery,” Andrew says,
  Means only where the law permits.
  Down Highway One you’ll bravely sail,
  As far as Pacific Valley — carrying the mail.

  So many days no truck came by,
  No junk mail even caught our eye!
  Who knew we’d miss it quite this bad —
  Even the bills will make us glad.

  So Andrew, Andy, look and see,
  Bring that mountain of mail to me!
  Through fire and smoke and Highway One,
  You kept the Big Sur post office going strong.

  Wait! Oh yes, wait a minute, Mister Postmen,
  Wait, wait, Mister Postmen!

  Three weeks we waited patiently —
  Now here come Andrew and Andy!

• Magnus is right to praise dear Andy too, I was remiss in forgetting it’s our dynamic duo keeping up with the piles of mail. We are so fortunate to have you both, Andrew and Andy!
