I will be adding to this shortly, as I gather information, but as of this morning, in the Big Sur Valley, one rain gauge near the Grange recorded 1 and 1/2 inch. 

My rain gauge for the storm, records 3/4 of an inch, but the rain continues.

Highlands Peak in Big Creek reports .55 inches for the past 24 hours. Chew’s ridge reports .64 for the storm. Nepenthe reports 1.20 inches.

Finally, the weather reports state rain probable to possible to slight, until next Thursday. Tomorrow, chances of thunderstorms most of the day, until 10 pm. Fun!

As I listen to significant rain beating on my roof at the moment, 6:30 pm on Thursday, this is what the forecast discussion is saying:

ALTHOUGH ALL OF THE MODELS DEPICT RAINFALL FOR THE DISTRICT FOR
 TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY AFTERNOON WHERE THE FOCUS OF THE PRECIPITATION
 ENDS UP BEING REMAINS THE BIG QUESTION MARK.

  • Last night we had a ton of rain. 1.5 inches by 6am! Then the drive from Carmel Highlands to Hurricane Point was treacherous. Numerous slides covering entire lanes, and big boulders, concealed in the blinding rain and fog. But I made it to Pacific Valley School and not over some cliff. South of Point Sur, things mellowed out a lot. But we have had showers all day, so my rain gauge has over 2 inches by now. And a bunch more to come...

  • Kate e had alot or rain lastnight, but its stopped this morning but stays overcast. No thunder storms yet. Hardly any wind with this storm up here. I wish we had a rain gauge so I could tell how much PG got in the past few days.

    BTW... the pics in your last post were awesome. Your friend is a good photographer.
