MUD CREEK SLIDE (PM 3.0-10) PERMANENT CLOSURE REMAINS CLOSED THROUGH LATE SUMMER 2018

THERE ARE THREE SEPARATE CLOSURE LOCATIONS ON STATE ROUTE 1 1) BETWEEN RAGGED PT. (SLO PM 72.87) AND GORDA (PM 10); 2) JUST NORTH OF NACIMIENTO-FERGUSSON (PM 18.9) AND HERMITAGE (MON PM 22.42); AND 3) AT ANDERSON CANYON BRIDGE (PM 35.35)

3) TODAY—9 AM
Status: Thursday, March 22, closure
Location: District 5, SR 1, Monterey
Description: Due to rocks falling onto the roadway
Impact: Route closed at Anderson Canyon Bridge (PM 35.35)
Estimated Time of Reopening: 9 AM TODAY

2) TODAY—10 AM
Status: Thursday, March 22, extension of closure
Location: District 5, SR 1, Monterey
Description: Due to rocks falling onto the roadway
Impact: Route closed from just north of Nacimiento-Fergusson (PM 18.9) to Hermitage (PM 22.42)
Estimated Time of Reopening: 10 AM TODAY

1) TODAY—2 PM
Status: Wednesday, March 21
Location: District 5, SR 1, San Luis Obispo
Description: Due to rocks falling onto the roadway
Impact: Route closed from Ragged Point (just past the Ragged Pt. Inn, SLO PM 72.87) to Gorda (PM 10)
Estimated Time of Full Mud Creek Closure moving from Ragged Pt. and returning to north of Salmon Creek (PM 3): TODAY AT 2 PM

NOTE: State Route 1 in Monterey County remains closed from north of Salmon Creek, just south of the Ranger Station (PM 3) to just south of Gorda (PM 10) due to the Mud Creek slide. State Route 1 south of Salmon Creek is accessible via State Route 1 in San Luis Obispo County near Ragged Point.

REMINDER: Travelers still CANNOT access the entire length of Highway 1 from Carmel to Cambria but local businesses are open on both sides of Mud Creek.

The next weekly update will be provided next Monday, March 26, or sooner if conditions change. The County states that Nacimiento-Fergusson remains open.
