Re: Film Production Activity on Highway 1 in the Hurricane Point Area, 12/5/2025

Greetings!

In an effort to better communicate with Big Sur residents and businesses regarding upcoming filming activities,

this letter is to notify you of an upcoming permitted film shoot scheduled for Friday, December 5th, 2025 from

1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Our work will require intermittent traffic control (ITC) between Mile Markers 58.00 and 59.00, south of Bixby Bridge, in the area of Hurricane Point, on

Hwy 1. As per our permit, portion of the turnouts south of Hurricane Point will

be used for parking of production vehicles. (No more than 50% of these turnouts will be

used).  We’ll be filming with a drone for a portion of this work.

We will be hiring California Highway Patrol officers to facilitate the ITC – ensuring public safety

and access with only brief traffic holds of 5 minutes. Most of our trucks and equipment will be

stationed a few miles away on private property.

We have taken all steps to ensure that the required permits have been obtained from Caltrans and

Monterey County and will comply with restrictions necessary for a safe and efficient shoot.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I hope this advance notice is helpful for you

to plan your day.

Sincerely,

Brian Bird
