Roadless Area Conservation Act

it is very easy. It takes only a minute. Click on the “take action” link below.

ASK SENATOR PADILLA TO STAND STRONG FOR ROADLESS PROTECTIONS

Tomorrow, December 2, the Senate will review the Roadless Area Conservation Act (S. 2042)—a bill that would permanently protect the Roadless Rule at the same time the Trump administration is moving to repeal it.

These protections safeguard clean water, wildlife habitat, and mature and old-growth forests across more than 635,000 acres in Los Padres National Forest.TAKE ACTION FOR ROADLESS AREASSenator Alex Padilla is a cosponsor of S. 2042 and sits on the committee that will decide its future. He needs to hear from Californians now.

More than 600,000 public comments across the country opposed repealing the Roadless Rule—99% in support of keeping protections in place. Local communities and leaders on the Central Coast agree.Let Senator Padilla Know You Have His BackClaims that roadless protections block wildfire mitigation aren’t accurate—fuel reduction projects already move forward in these areas. Repealing the rule would only open the door to new roadbuilding and logging of mature and old-growth trees.SUPPORT S. 2042Thank you for speaking up to protect our most wild places.
