Appointed appellate counsel for indigent defendants (retired.) I have lived in Big Sur since 1984, first on the north coast, and on the South Coast since 1989.

    • There is no fee for this part of the park which is before the lodge, store, restaurant. And no kiosk before one gets to the Conference Center. The State Park waves the fee for certain things like the Fire Brigade yearly fundraiser, etc.

  • Correct, no fee. Turn left up the hill before the fee collection kiosk, opposite the parking lot for the main lodge.

  • The Lodge does ask you to park down below by the Lodge or preferably along the highway and walk up as most parking above is for reserved for lodge guests, government officials and people with handicaps. Just a friendly reminder!
