• Lots of fire trucks responding, counted at least 5 if not more.

  • Chimney Fire, chp dispatch says.

• Is the Rocky Point Resto smoke traveling North? Brown haze hanging over Carmel and CV. I am on upper Tassajara Rd and can see a brown haze. Called it in. The responder was clueless. Is this structure only or brush? When did it start?

  • Regine, I am seeing some smoke drift as well. Wouldn't be Rocky Point, I dont believe. Might be FHL? RP started about 3:38 pm, structure only, I believe at this point.

• hoping for quick containment!

• Is the smoke you see drifting north? I am probably 40 miles N of FHL

  • It is north of me, yes. It is not so much drifting as settling, but it is called drift smoke.

• Sitting drift smoke ... OK ... good to get the lingo. Thanks

• Not sitting .... settling

  • LOL. Sitting works, actually. It just seems to settle in the canyons and I can see it one canyon north of me. It isn't bad, but easy for me to spot.

• I did not write 'sitting', it's the you-know-what auto-pick words for me on this computer who did it. But you are right, sitting is one means of settling. There is also the horizontal positions on takes for the night and then there is the morbid one, the legal solution.... Sorry, i just LOVVVE words.

just got the full meaning of fanfare the other day. FAN-fare! Usually loud and ego-nurturing for the celebrated one.

Sorry ... does not match the topic of this strain ... just got carried away ....

• Any other details on Ricky Point?

  • They got it fast, a kitchen fire, and it was re-opened tonight.
