Some locations are on private property and trespassing laws are strictly enforced. Please see additional notes and instructions at the bottom for more information.

When viewing the photos, you can choose the “Time Comparison” link at the top left of the California Coastal Records Project website for newer or older photos. Selecting the photo itself will open the photo in high resolution. Additional photos are provided by Google Street View. The original maps were created by Caltrans for the Big Sur Coast Highway Management Plan . They are 11×17 and best viewed in PDF format.

The following image shows current closures in the National Forest Please check with the USFS for current closures. Access to the Vincente Flat Trailhead is from Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd to Hwy 1. Cone Peak Rd is temporarily closed due to the Mill fire.
