Dramatic Photos at Highway One and Pfeiffer

Just taken at 11 am, I am just uploading without editing, and will post immediately, and then add more photos. I am hanging out at the Roadhouse where they are taking such good care of everyone, including me. I am probably not going to town today. I filled up at Fernwood, and will go home when I am done up here today. I need to get out of the smoke, and I need some rest.

  1. Great work Kate. Drip torches means back firing. Following the plan. Tactical info is difficult to come by, mouths are quiet outside the incident command team. It’s very damp and cold up here in Carmel but it looks like sun in Big Sur?

  2. If they are backfireing at the Pfeiffer Ridge Road and HWY 1 gate they are afraid the fire will jump the HWY . So , has the fire jumped across Sycamore Cyn road , yet , and if so where along the road ?

  3. Photos from Post Grade @ Pfeiffer Ridge Road are excellent, thank you.
Counting from the top, #’s 2, 4, 5, and 12 are fine subject matter for a local artist (HCG?) to paint from. They show the fire fighters strategizing, some facial features, colorful machinery, the locale, and, the problem at hand.
    Good composition.
