We are watching Monday closely as another atmospheric river wants to take aim at California. This AR will not be as strong as our last AR and the exact point of landfall is still up in the air. We will fine tune the details in the coming days.”
I asked Daniel Swain (Weather West) about this and he wrote: ”It’s possible, though not as much of a “slam dunk” as the last one (and would be much weaker in relative terms–much more squarely in the “beneficial” column, in any case).”
We’ll take it. Actually more consistent rain events with breaks between storms is more beneficial and less of a threat to watersheds damaged by wildfires. A good snow pack would be great, too, while I’m making wishes and doing my rain dance…
