“Attention FHL Community, the FHL Fire Department is conducting back fire operations to control a vegetation fire that started around 0830 am this morning. The FHL Fire department, DPW’s Roads and Grounds, Los Padres National Forest, and Cal Fire are monitoring the situation closely. Make sure to stay connected to our FHL Facebook page for all the latest updates.
For question, comments or concerns, please call: 831-386-2526.” By the way, the only info this number gives out is, “It is a controlled burn.” No name, acreage, etc. all further inquiries referred to Fire Dept.

  1. Far be it from me to assume such, but I get the impression that FHL wants to force us onto one “social” media company, a private, profit-making enterprise in competition with other such companies or onto the telephone. I hope I’m wrong.

  2. I was camping at Kirk Creek on Wednesday and late in the morning I noticed smoke coming from the SE direction. I assumed that the fire was from Hunter Leggett area a few hours later I was heading down towards Willow Creek and I stopped in at the forestry station PV the gentleman at the desk inside the fire station said that it was a fire on Hunter Liggett started by most likely live fire and that it was reported at 3000 acres but was actually only 1000 acres and was 100% contained.
