For me, January 6th 2020 is on a par with Sept 11, 2001 and November 22, 1963. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing. Unlike 9/11 or 11/22, 1/6 is too fresh to have the perspective of history to soften the blunt edges of the horror of those days and the pain inflicted. Unlike the other two, the partisan politics try to twist and shape today’s memory into that which it is not. All three were forms of terrorism. Whatever else you do today, vow to remember the truth and make a commitment to vote.
Also, since I can’t add this in the comments, I will add it here. At least one Republican was concerned.
I’ve turned off comments. I’ve started to get the usual conspiracy theory comments — “it was all a trap orchestrated by Nancy Pelosi.” It can only go downhill from there. I did allow opposing opinions, but when we step off into that conspiracy deep end, I cannot give that air or space on my blog.

I was shocked too when Republicans most peacefully protested like Democrats do all the time.

How can you compare this to 9/11? No weapons were set forth. Only person shot was Ashlie Babbitt. She was one of the Trump supporters that made the poor choice of breaking into the speakers chamber unarmed. She was killed by security and like the other fools should have remained outside. Now that you can see all the video footage the “J6 Select Committee “ withheld its predominantly fools wondering around like children lost on a museum field trip. Mulling as if they are looking for the snack bar and Lobby. Many of the police are guiding and talking to them. Lastly the big Viking mental patient was video’d with crystal clear audio on a loud speaker announcing to the crowd “ President Donald Trump has asked that we all stop and go home now, Trump wants us to go home now” before anyone gain access. After reviewing all the newly released videos that were purposely withheld form the public I’m certain one third pushed inside, one third was invited inside and one third stayed outside. That adds up to 100% fools lol. I wouldn’t call this a violent insurrection. I’m not a Trump fan however a majority of the media has abandoned impartial journalism. Love to Big Sur. Love to all.
