  1. Karl I would not bet on it, but to give an idea, they got 1 lane open in 4 months when it fell in a nearby area. I will resurrect that video/posts from 2011.

  3. Mary’s photos are impressive. Driving past that hole in the highway must have been harrowing! Happening on Easter weekend, imagining all the visitors camping & overnighting south of the slip out, as well as the residents, this poses quite the conundrum with road still closed @ Paul’s slide.

  4. Have not seen any updates this morning as to any possible additional road decay into the NB lane at Rocky Creek. Wonder how much the Colorado Fire hillside damage played in this road lost. Run off from the above fire damaged hillside or just the eventual coast side weakening from ages of wave action below. Road damage is right where the concrete berms are located on the beach (created in the 50’s ?) to fortify this section from cliff side erosion.

  5. There is a spring or water just collects on the south side of the road just opposite where the slide is.It’s been there since at least the late 80’s.
