  1. Cool. Wish we did that up here! Before I moved down to Big Sur, I used to live right across from the Sunset Center, btw. Perfect location. 🙂

  2. Please post a list of kit contents and your own ideas . . .

I have 5K of water storage.

  3. Well this is Halloween week, so its timely for CBTS departments of law enforcement, public works, & especially the city attorney, clearly understands the power of the press to twist reality so its property owners, shop renters & tourists alike are given the far-fetched impression they are being looked out after. One would only need to drive either of the hamlets 4 entry-exit routes, to clearly see the signs of a not caring public works dept, an asleep at the wheel police dept & what might be a mayor entirely without a clue . With dirty intersection signage, unwashed for years if ever, unpainted crosswalk designation , dangerously leaning unhealthy pines, dilapidated utility poles , uprooted sidewalks, under low hanging limbs, a beach reduced every year in size and slope by high surf, and zero upkeep to its stairways, and landscaping which if it hadn’t been cared for by Carmel Cares and its big hearted tireless volunteer force, this event to bring attention to this winters threats ought to include giving attention and close public scrutiny to the the decades of lack of care largely at the unskilled departments afore mentioned.
The city which masquerades as the City of Trees..or something to that effect is such a lie. Hardly a single Pine or Cypress thru out town doesn’t wear the marks of being abused by severe undercutting of upwards 70 % of the lower limbs..all in order to create views. Most have unskilled trim angled cuts. There s one appropriate manner to teim.branches & limbs. That is to bring in the cuts flush at the trunk or around 45 degrees..then and only then will a healing collar successfully grow and seal. Look as one might all day & you’d find 1 out of a hundred done right. The rest were butchered leaving exposed unhealed cut lines infiltrated by burrowing killer bugs…No ones talking truth in Carmel. When winds over 35 mph hit the coast..all of town becomes one large blown away nightmare.Town now equals a retail so-so amusement park solely for the purpose of incising visitation. Public administrations such as the police station, Youth Center, Public Works Dept., Sunset Center, the former Scout House, have all been allowed to decay to the point to where now are imposing threats to health & safety .

  4. Human infastructure returning to nature should be a biopsychosocial celebration, a delusional sense of permanence is unhealthy.

Beauty is the harvest of presence, we can complain because rose bushes have thorns or rejoice because thorns have roses.
