Illegal Campfires

were rampant yesterday. Maybe that why I saw USFS LE officer Roberta  for the first time in years. She was at the bottom of Plaskett when I saw her. Maybe she got up To Prewitt last night or today. As I told her, people are absolutely crazy this year. What part of this sign don’t you get?

I count five. I don’t get it.

oh, and while I am ranting … What in the heck was MoCo Weekly thinking in publishing an article on hiking the Buckeye Trail down here which encourages campfires, even thourgh the writer mentioned the drought and lack of water in the area? Bad, bad idea, people! That intern needs to be educated, as do her editors and publishers, apparently. Please contact MCWeekly and call them on their irresponsible reporting.

Sunset over Willow Creek

Just loved these cloud formations the other night.

On another note, new Fire restrictions went into effect yesterday. Still no campfires outside of developed campgrounds (Nacimiento, Ponderosa, Plaskett Creek, and Kirk Creek, along with Day use areas Sand Dollar Beach and Mill Creek). Also permits are now required for both propane stoves and lanterns. I’ll post the notice later today, which has a link to get a permit online.
