8 pm – The fire in the training area near the San Miguelito Loop is 100% contained and will be monitored all evening. A total of 450 acres burned. The Los Padres and CalFire units have been released.
At about 3:30 pm FHL reports: “The fire in the FHL training area near the San Miguelito Loop is expected to be fully contained later this evening, with a total of 200 acres burned. Smoke may linger for a couple more days, according to Emergency Services.”
And then there was this:
@LosPadresNF @VentanaHC firefighters assisted with #NacimientoFire today on Fort Hunter Liggett. Shifty NE winds caused some challenging spot fires but forward progress was halted at 450 acres.
From FHL : “A large fire off the Nacimiento-Fergusson Road by the San Miguelito Loop is being tended by engines from FHL, Los Padres National Forest, and CalFire. It was reported sometime before 1 p.m. It is not affecting traffic on the Nacimiento-Fergusson Road at this time (1:20 p.m., Oct. 2).” [ed note. I removed the originally reported 700-800 acres, as it appears FHL later removed it as well.)
Thank you for all that you do Kate.
You are welcome. This one is old, and the one in Morgan Hill today is under control but the one in Solano is sending smoke as far south as Santa Cruz.
