Photo Sunday, 11/6/22

Before I bring you your Sunday photo, I need to let you know about a planned prescribed burn for today. I suspect it might be postponed, given the rain, but anyway…

On Sunday, November 6th, the Santa Lucia Conservancy is planning to conduct a prescribed burn totaling approximately 25 acres in Carmel Valley at The Santa Lucia Preserve. Because prescribed burns are dependent on weather conditions, the date of the burn is subject to change with little notice. We will email you promptly with any changes.

The goals of this prescribed burn are to help restore the dairy field meadow by reducing thatch and cycling nutrients back into the soil while increasing fire safety through fuels reduction. To learn more about the goals of the prescribed burn and the measures we have in place to ensure community safety, please visit our website.

Smoke from the prescribed burn is anticipated and may persist for several days, depending on weather conditions. Prescribed fire smoke is generally less intense and remains concentrated for a shorter period than smoke from wildland fires.

If you have any questions, please contact Restoration Manager Jackson Brooke atjbrooke@slconservancy.org.

All the best,

That is my amish quilt in the background that I hung in the So Coast Community Land Trust Booth when I worked it for a lot of years.
