The comment at 2:13 PM says they had already been talked to by “14.” That would mean resident post beat unit 27-14 had already talked to them.

They should be ticketed and the fine should be substantial for illegal parking and causing a hazardous situation. The highway patrol should be stationed in the area. The fines should be $1000 and subject to towing if no one is present inside the vehicle. Crazy! Why bother to have laws if they are not enforced?

If they’re vending they should be ticked for not having a license to sell, especially if it’s food. There were so many illegal vendors in front of the Boardwalk physical fights broke out between the vendors and legitimate businesses, that undergo inspections and pay taxes on their profits. The Boardwalk is pretty much the opposite of Big Sur , but we don’t want Big Sur becoming to be even remotely like the Boardwalk. When police inspected the vendors the food was kept un refrigerated overnight, including mayonnaise. Monterey needs to require a license to vend and set aside specific areas. Like near Old Fisherman’s Whatf.

In the old days we used to grab the distributor from illegally parked cars on the road to Pfeiffer Beach, then give it back after they paid the $2.00 toll. Once we even dug a hole with the dozer and half-buried an illegally parked car. We got some legal threats so just had Mike tow the cars which cost the smart-asses much more

Hey Sterling, long time … when the Brazil’s had the old homestead us kids only charged a quarter and we manned the gates so therefore no non-payments! Bette says hi …
We came back north at about 3:15 and the CHP was there to give tickets. There were a LOT of cars parked halfway in the road, and the traffic was at a standstill in both directions. Long backups.
