Temporary Evacuation Point Opened at MAF

The County of Monterey has established a Temporary Evacuation (TEP) Point in Big Sur to serve residents who are under the evacuation order areas.

Location: Big Sur Station – Multi Agency Facility (MAF)

Date/Time: Today, and through Thursday 8:00 am to 6:30 pm each day, or until evacuation orders are lifted.

The TEP provides a designated location for evacuees to temporarily gather, receive incident information and resource referrals, and coordinate next steps as conditions evolve. Residents in Evacuation Order Areas can request sheltering resources at the TEP in person.

The TEP is staffed by Big Sur CERT and Monterey Free Libraries.

The American Red Cross is providing comfort kits, water, and snacks.
