1:00 pm – the incident has been removed from the dispatch log.
12:45 pm – Road just closed south of Gorda … Both lanes due to rock/mud slide according to CHP website. I only got .17″ so probably not bad, but no eyewitness reports, yet.

I just bought myself a wonderful weather station. It does it all. Hoping to install the outside station late this afternoon.

Looking forward to getting much more accurate results, and rain totals in the .01ths, instead of .1s. And wind speeds up to 150 mph! We don’t get those really high winds every winter, but whatever we get, I’ll be able to accurately measure!

CAL FIRE BEU
CAL FIRE is planning a prescribed burn in the southern Diablo Range southeast of Pinnacles National Park (San Benito County) for Thursday, October 10, 2013.
We have rain coming our way … Always welcome, but not enough to end the fire season yet.
No word on Jade Festival, although Park Management posted today that they are still closed, and asked everyone to contact Lois Capp in either SLO or DC.
1:45 update – it started here a bit early. Yay!
The NWS in Monterey tweeted a few minutes ago: @NWSBayArea: Solid band of showers moving into northern Monterey Bay and should reach Monterey/Salinas areas around 2 to 2:30 pm.
After waking to wetness and the sound of rain in various places up the coast, this is welcome news. Perhaps this will put an end to this year’s fire season.
I have been missing from blogging due to health issues for me and one of my dogs. Also lost my cellular booster, but replacement should be here Monday. It is hard enough dealing with that when I’m healthy, and impossible when I’m not.
